About the scheme
The SG Child Support Package will benefit all Singapore citizen children aged 17 and below. Payouts will start from April 2027.
As announced at the 2026 National Day Rally, the SG Child Support Package will replace the Baby Bonus Scheme and Large Families Scheme. The Package provides families with stronger and more sustained financial support to help raise their children from birth through the growing years. Under this Package, every Singapore citizen child will receive the same level of support, regardless of birth order.
The Package payouts will start from April 2027. Until then, eligible children can continue to enrol in the Baby Bonus Scheme to receive existing benefits, including the Baby Bonus Cash Gift (BBCG). Children under the Baby Bonus Scheme will be automatically transitioned to the Package from April 2027.
Cash benefits
- Baby Gift: Singapore citizen children born on or after 1 April 2027 will receive $10,000 in cash, disbursed in 2 tranches within 12 months of their birth. Singapore citizen children born before 1 April 2027 who are receiving BBCG payouts, will continue receiving them until 31 March 2027. As the Baby Gift will replace the BBCG, you'll get a top-up by 30 April 2027, bringing the total support up to $10,000 if applicable.
- Child Credits: Singapore citizen children turning 1 to 16 from 2026 onwards will receive $2000 in Child Credits annually. The first payout starts from April 2027, with subsequent payouts made on your child's birthday.
Child Development Account (CDA) benefits
- CDA First Step Grant: Singapore citizen children born on or after 1 April 2027 will receive a one-off grant of $5,000 automatically deposited into the CDA once the account is opened.
- CDA Government co-matching: Singapore citizen children born on or after 1 April 2027 will receive dollar-for-dollar Government co-matching in their CDA, up to a cap of $5,000*.
- Extension of CDA: For Singapore citizen children born on or after 1 January 2015, the CDA will remain open until the end of the year the child turns 16. Any unused CDA funds will be automatically transferred to the Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) under the Ministry of Education (MOE), up to the child’s PSEA cap.
Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) top-up
- PSEA top-up: Singapore citizen children turning 17 from 2026 onwards will receive a one-off $10,000 top-up into their PSEAs, opened automatically after the CDA closes. Children turning 17 in 2026 will receive the top-up in June 2027. In subsequent years, children will receive the top-up in June of the year they turn 17.

Setting up your child's PayNow bank account
The Package payouts will be paid to the bank account linked to your child’s PayNow ID (NRIC or birth certificate number). Set up your child’s PayNow account before 1 April 2027 to ensure you receive the payouts promptly. Before registering for PayNow, you must ensure your child has 1 of these bank accounts:
- A personal account in their name
- A joint account with a parent (e.g. the Child Savings Account)
Log in to the bank’s internet banking platform or mobile app.
Link the bank account with your child’s PayNow ID (NRIC or birth certificate number) at the PayNow registration screen.
Complete the SMS OTP verification if prompted.
Once done, confirm the PayNow account is set up by checking the PayNow Profile in your iBanking account or app.
Do not link your child’s PayNow ID to any Child Development Account (CDA). CDA is a ring-fenced account used for approved expenses (e.g. education and healthcare expenses at Approved Institutions) and funds cannot be withdrawn in cash.
