The Large Families Scheme is a Government Scheme administered by the Ministry of Social and Family Development, to strengthen support for Singaporeans who have three or more children. It builds on the Government commitment to provide greater support for couples who aspire to have more children, and to create a family friendly Singapore.
Families with a third or subsequent eligible Singapore Citizen child born on or after 18 February 2025 will receive:
a Large Family MediSave Grant
an increased Child Development Account First Step Grant, and
privileges at partnered merchants.
Families may also receive Large Family LifeSG Credits annually (up to when the child is six years old) if they meet the eligibility criteria.
A child of third or subsequent birth order born on or after 18 February 2025 will qualify for a $5,000 increase in the Child Development Account (CDA) First Step Grant (FSG), bringing the total CDA FSG to $10,000. This amount can be used to defray preschool and healthcare expenses for the child and his/her siblings in a large family.
Your child is automatically eligible for the increased CDA FSG if they are enrolled onto the Baby Bonus Scheme and:
is a Singapore Citizen;
is a third or subsequent child; and
was born on or after 18 February 2025; and
has a Child Development Account opened.
The full amount of $10,000 will be credited if at least one of the eligible child’s parents is a Singapore citizen at the time of the child’s birth. The amount will be pro-rated if both parents are non-Singapore Citizens at the time of the child’s birth and child subsequently become a Singapore Citizen.
A child of third or subsequent birth order born on or after 18 February 2025 will qualify for the Large Families Scheme MediSave Grant (LFMG). This will be paid into the mother’s CPF MediSave Account, and she may use it to pay for medical expenses for her and her family members.
Your child is automatically eligible for the LFMG if they are enrolled onto the Baby Bonus Scheme and:
is a Singapore Citizen;
is a third or subsequent child; and
was born on or after 18 February 2025.
The child’s mother will be the default recipient if she is:
currently alive;
the biological/adoptive parent of the child; and
a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident.
If the mother does not meet the eligibility criteria, the child will be the eligible recipient.
The full amount of $5000 will be credited to the CPF MediSave Account if at least one of the eligible child’s parents is a Singapore Citizen at the time of the child’s birth. The amount will be pro-rated if both parents are non-Singapore Citizens at the time of the child’s birth and child subsequently become a Singapore Citizen.
A child of third or subsequent birth order will qualify for $1,000 in Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC) that will be disbursed annually when the child is between one to six years old. This can help to defray a wide range of household expenses.
Married or ever-married parents raising and caring for three or more children will receive the LFLC of $1,000 annually for each third and subsequent Singapore citizen child aged 1 to 6 years old. To qualify:
For married couples or widowers, there must be 3 or more living Singapore citizen children (related by birth, adoption or step-relations) tied to the CDA trustees in the couple pair.
For divorcees, there must be 3 or more living Singapore citizen children (related by birth, adoption or step-relations) tied to him/her as the CDA trustee.
Eligibility is assessed annually, and the family must meet the eligibility criteria by the assessment cut-off date of 1 Mar to receive LFLC the same year. Any changes in families’ eligibility that occur after this assessment date will only be taken into account for the following year’s LFLC disbursement.
Credits will be paid to the CDA trustee of the eligible child, via the digital wallet in the LifeSG app.
Children born between 2019 to 2024 will receive the LFLC in September 2025.
Children born in 2025 will receive the LFLC in April 2026.
Thereafter, LFLC will continue to be paid out annually in April for eligible children until the eligible child turns 6 years old.
The full amount of $1,000 will be credited for each eligible child. The credits will be valid for 12 months and recipients will be notified by MSF once the credits have been disbursed into the recipients’ LifeSG application digital wallet.

Eligible children born from 18 February 2025 will receive the increased Child Development Account (CDA) First Step Grant (FSG) starting from end February 2025 and the Large Family MediSave Grant (LFMG) starting from mid March 2025.
The increased CDA FSG will be paid out around 2 weeks after the opening of a CDA. The LFMG will be paid out around 2 weeks after successful enrolment into the Baby Bonus Scheme.
Eligible children born between 2019 to 2024 will first receive the Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC) in September 2025. Eligibility will be determined as of 1 August 2025.
Eligible children born in 2025 will first receive the LFLC in April 2026. Thereafter, the LFLC will continue to be paid out annually in April for eligible children. Eligibility will be determined as of 1 March of each disbursement year.
Any changes in families’ eligibility that occur after the respective eligibility assessment date will only be taken into account for the following year’s LFLC disbursement.
Credits will be paid into the LifeSG app digital wallet of the eligible child’s CDA trustee in MSF’s records. Recipients will be notified via SMS by MSF once the credits have been disbursed into their LifeSG app digital wallet. Please ensure that your details (e.g. CDA trustee information, contact details) are correct and accurately reflected on Myinfo and with MSF.
Eligible recipients will be notified by MSF through their LifeSG Inbox and/or email/SMS. Please ensure that your contact details are up to date on Myinfo in order to receive communications. You can also subscribe to alerts on the LifeSG app if you would like to receive push notifications on your mobile phone.
Children born before 18 February 2025 currently receive comprehensive support under the Marriage and Parenthood Package. They will also receive the one-off Child LifeSG Credits announced at Budget 2025 held on 18 February 2025.
Families whose third or subsequent child has an Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) on or after 18 February 2025 but was born earlier than 18 February 2025 may appeal to MSF for the Large Family Medisave Grant and increased Child Development Account First Step Grant eligibility based on their EDD.
You may submit an appeal to MSF via FormSG at https://go.gov.sg/lfs-eddappeal with a copy of the doctor’s certification. The certification should include (a) the child’s EDD, (b) the mother’s name and identification number, and (c) the name of the clinic and the doctor’s signature with Medical Registration (MCR) number.
Appeals will generally not be considered as eligibility* is assessed automatically based on your records with MSF and Myinfo. Please ensure that your details (e.g. Child Development Account (CDA) trustee information, contact details) are correct and accurately reflected on Myinfo and with MSF.
However, we will consider appeals for the Large Family MediSave Grant and increased CDA First Step Grant if the child’s estimated date of delivery (EDD) is on or after 18 February 2025 but was born earlier. Parents may write in to MSF at http://go.gov.sg/lfs-eddappeal with a copy of the doctor’s certification.
For the Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC), eligibility will be assessed as of 1 August in 2025, and as of 1 March from 2026 onwards. Families must meet the eligibility criteria by the assessment cut-off date to receive LFLC the same year, and any changes in families’ eligibility that occur after this assessment date will only be taken into account for the following year’s LFLC disbursement.

The Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC) aim to provide sustained support for married or ever-married parents (i.e. widowed or divorced) raising and caring for 3 or more children. This is in recognition of the fact that they face higher demands on their resources and finances, as costs stack up with every additional child.
The Child LifeSG Credits (CLC) are a one-off measure under the Budget 2025, to provide broad-based support for all families with children aged 0-12 in 2025 to help them manage their child-raising costs.
Eligible families with 3 or more children can receive both the Large Family LifeSG Credits (LFLC) and the CLC. Recipients will be notified by MSF once the credits have been disbursed into the Child Development Account trustee’s LifeSG app digital wallet.
